inI’ve made a little headway on my APFT score, but otherwise little has been gained.
The up side is that very soon, most of what has been holding me back should be gone. I’ve given up on the three-on/one-off scheduling for now; I’m not in good enough shape to be productive with it. Here are my PT goals for this quarter, ending in the beginning of September:
Push-Ups: 1 set of 40 Daily; Sit-Ups: 1 set of 40 Daily; Run: 6.6 mph on inclined treadmill for 30 minutes
Military Press: 100 x 5; Power Clean: 155 x 3; Bench Press: 150 x 5; Squat: 200 x 5; Deadlift: 245 x 5
Reach Level 3 in Pull-Ups
Test for rank in WHA and AIMAA.

inWell, I was going to start a new Whole30 today, but I only got three hours’ sleep last night and had a non-Paleo wake-up breakfast without thinking. So, I’ll start tomorrow. Due to time constraints (and today not counting for Whole30, anyway) my first two meals will be Met-Rx bars.
Tonight, I’ll do a Deck of Cards with the Level 2 exercises from Convict Conditioning (Jokers will be 40 sit-ups), followed by a two-mile tempo run. For dinner, I’ll finish off the chicken and vegetables I slow-cooked earlier this week. That should set me up for a good start on Whole30 tomorrow…
I’m looking forward to starting the new quarter–I think I’ve finally, after nearly two decades, figured out how to incorporate iron training into my plan and still improve on my military PT scores. I know a lot of people in the Army and the Corps who lift weights all the time and still do fantastic on their PT tests; I don’t have the genetics for that. Or may they’re just better planners than I am. 🙂
